IP geolocation is not GPS. Your ISP routes traffic through regional hubs that can be hundreds of miles from your physical location. Country-level accuracy is reliable. City-level is best-effort and can be off by 50–200 miles for residential connections.

The ASN/IP-range dataset refreshes daily at 04:00 UTC; city-level geolocation refreshes on its own schedule (IP2Location monthly, MaxMind weekly). Threat feeds (VPN, Tor, abuse networks) sync every 6 hours. The edge cache TTL is 5 minutes.
